In the footsteps of Busquets: Jordi Alba leaves Barcelona

Barcelona’s left-bac Jordi Alba will leave Barcelona at the end of the season despite having one more year on his contract. Alaba has made the decision to leave the club and will be looking for a new challenge, according to media reports. Like Sergio Busquets, the 34-year-old will bid farewell to the Barça fans in the match against Mallorca at Camp Nou. After a year with just 13 starts and 23 appearances in La Liga, Alba will follow in the footsteps of Busquets and Gerard Piqué, who retired in November. Journalist Gerard Romero revealed that Alba had made his final decision to leave the Catalan, and would give up a large part of his financial dues with the club. Alba began his career with Barcelona in the summer of 2013, when he joined from Valencia, in a deal that cost the Catalan club an amount of €14 million.
