Qatar Makes an improved final offer to Buy Manchester United - Reports

The Times UK newspaper reported that Qatar's Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani has made a late and improved final offer to buy Manchester United and see off competition from his main rival for the control of the club, British petrochemicals billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, on Tuesday. Sheikh Jassim is the son of Former Qatari PM Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, who had made previous offers to buy the English Premier League giant. The American Glazer family, which owns United, began the process of selling the club and received several offers, including from British billionaire Sir James Arthur Ratcliffe, the British billionaire, chemical engineer and businessman. Ratcliffe is the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the INEOS chemicals group and Finnish businessman Thomas Ziliakos. The sources indicated that any sale to United would likely exceed the highest sporting deal to date, for $5.2 billion including debt and investment paid for Chelsea.
