South Korea striker Son clearly noticed the spectator as he walked around the pitch perimeter close to the Palace fans after being substituted near the end of Saturday’s game in north London. The incident was caught on camera, circulated on social media, and reported to the clubs. Police have opened an investigation into alleged racism towards Son Heung-min. A Crystal Palace fan appeared to target the Spurs forward with racial abuse. Tottenham has released a damning statement following the incident This is the third time this season that the South Korean star has been subjected to racism after Chelsea and West Ham matches. Chelsea banned his fan from entering the stadium and the police charged him with disturbing order, while Tottenham opened investigations after Son was subjected to racism on communication sites after beating West Ham 2-0 in February. The League Against Racism in Stadiums "Kick It Out" issued an official statement confirming its support for Son and the priority for the safety of the players, and demanded that the police take more stringent measures.
