Official: Garcia sacked out of Leeds, Allardyce confirmed as potential replacement
English club Leeds United announced on Wednesday that the club’s current Spanish manager, Javi Gracia, who took over in February 2023, is set to be sacked after a disastrous campaign with the club managing only 12 games. According to the club statement eports, Sam Allardyce has accepted an offer to join Leeds United for the remainder of the season. Allardyce was confirmed as Leeds boss this morning with former Dons manager Karl Robinson joining him as assistant manager. Leeds have confirmed a number of Javi Gracia’s coaching staff have also left the club. The Whites had already announced the exit of sporting director Victor Orta. A club statement read: “Leeds can confirm Javi Gracia will leave the club after 12 games in charge. “Zigor Aranalde, Mikel Antia and Juan Solla, who joined alongside Gracia, will also leave the club. “We thank Javi and his team for their efforts under difficult circumstances. “The remaining four games of the season will be overseen by experienced head coach Sam Allardyce.” Former MK Dons, Charlton and Oxford boss Karl Robinson will be Allardyce’s assistant. Leeds United ranks 17th in the English Premier League table with 30 points, as the club stares specter of relegation to the Championship.
