Salem Al-Dawsari posts a new historical negative record!

Saudi Arabia's World Cup star Salem Al-Dawsari became the first player to be sent off in two different finals against the same team in the AFC Champions League. Ahmed Al-Kaf, the Omani professional football referee plunged the red card in the face of Al-Dosari, after his violent intervention against Urawa player. Japan Urawa Reds rallied and held on against Al-Hilal to return to Japan with a 1-1 result after the first leg of the Asian Champions League final on Saturday. Salem was sent off in the second leg of the 2017 final against the same team in Japan, when Al Hilal lost 1-0. Al-Dosari became the second player to score and be sent off in one match in the history of the AFC Champions League finals. Al-Dosari recorded his name as the fourth player from the Saudi clubs to score in more than one final, after Al-Ittihad Mohamad Nour, Reda Tucker and Mohamad Kallon. The red card prevented Al-Dosari from approaching the top scorer of the Saudi players in the Champions League finals with its new system, as Al-Ittihad captain Mohamad Nour, who scored 4 goals in 5 matches. Al-Dosari scored two goals in 8 finals with Al-Hilal, and his goal today is the fourth in 8 matches in the current version. Salem is considered the only player from Al-Hilal who scored goals in 3 finals, as he set up Omar Khirbin’s goal in the first leg of the 2017 final, then Salem scored in the second leg of the 2019 final in Japan, before Saturday’s goal against the same team, Urawa.
