Water bottle Picture show what was written on de Gea's for FA Cup penalty shoot-out!
A picture of David de Gea looking at his water bottle during Sunday's FA Cup semi-final penalty shoot-out against Brighton Albion shows what was written on his notes. After enduring an evening to forget in Sevilla last week, the Spanish goalkeeper was back to his best against Brighton, pulling off a number of impressive saves in normal time to keep Erik ten Hag's side in the tie. The game then went to a penalty shootout, where Manchester United narrowly defeated Brighton Albion 6-7, and in the aftermath of the final whistle, a number of media reported a picture of De Gea looking at his water bottle, which was hidden inside his towel. “Zoom in” feature revealed that the Spanish international had pasted on the water bottle full information about the penalty kick takers in Brighton Albion, and the side of the goal in which they would prefer to shoot. This isn't the first time De Gea has used notes to try and gain an advantage. Last year, during United's Europa League final penalty shoot-out defeat, he brought a sheet containing all the key information on Villarreal's penalty takers. Despite his preparations for the penalty shootout, De Gea did not manage to save any penalty kick at Wembley Stadium. This failure exposed No. 1 shirt De Gea to criticism from Manchester United fans on social media, as they expressed their surprise at his failure to make a difference for his team during the penalty shootout.
