Guardiola: I want Haaland to break all records

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola affirmed that he wants his goal-scoring striker Erling Haaland to break all possible records with the Citizens, but he hopes to achieve titles first. Haaland scored twice in the first half in the Premier League 3-1 win over Leicester City to equal Liverpool's Mohamed Salah's single-season goal-scoring record. Haaland, who still has eight matches to play, took his tally to 32 to match Salah's record for a 38-game season. Haaland increased his haul to 32 goals to tie Salah's mark for a 38-game season - and the 22-year-old Norwegian scoring machine has eight games still to play.Only four days earlier, Haaland had become the first player in English football to score a record 45 goals in a season in all competitions during City's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final. Manchester City continued to chase its arch-rival, Arsenal, for the Premier League title, after achieved a great victory over Leicester City 3-0, in the match that was held on Saturday evening at the Etihad Stadium, within the 31st round of the English Premier League competition, in the meeting in which Haaland scored a double. Haaland raised his score to 32 goals in 28 matches in which he participated so far in the Premier League, to equal Mohamed Salah's historic number as the most goals-scoring player in one season in the history of the English Premier League, with a 38-round system of the competition. Guardiola said during his remarks after the meeting: “I want him to break all possible records. This means that he scores all the goals and helps us, but I think he wants to win titles.” About the meeting, he commented: "When you rotate the team, the team falls behind a lot. We started really well. Everyone saw that, after the goal we conceded we suffered a lot. When there are a lot of substitutions, you drop a lot."
Guardiola said that Haaland's performance has been "impressive" as the Norwegian looks to break all records this season. Manchester City ranks second in the English Premier League table with 70 points, 3 points behind leaders Arsenal. While Leicester City ranks nineteenth and penultimate, with 26 points.
