Haaland breaks Salah’s historic EPL club record

The unstoppable Norwegian star Erling Haaland has smashed another record after he scored in Manchester City's Champions League demolition of Bayern Munich. The Norwegian netted his 45th goal of the season in Tuesday night's 3-0 win at the Etihad Stadium, a result that puts one foot in the semi-finals for Pep Guardiola's team. The 22-year-old scored his 45th goal of the season in all competitions which broke the scoring record by a Premier League player in a single season. Haaland's all-competition goals tally is now the most in a single season by a player at a Premier League club. The landmark comes days after Haaland became the third player to reach 30 Premier League goals in a debut season with a brace in City's 4-1 victory at Southampton on Saturday. Haaland will now have his sights set on Clive Allen's English top-flight goal record of 49 goals in all competitions. The record previously belonged to Ruud van Nistelrooy and Mohamed Salah, with both previously notching 44 in a single season - the Dutchman in 2002/03 with Manchester United, the Egyptian in 2017/18 with Liverpool. Manchester City snatched a positive result at their threshold. The return match which will be held at the Allianz Arena, Bayern’s stronghold, which is scheduled to be held on April 19. Manchester City and Bayern Munich, will play against the qualified from Real Madrid and Chelsea, while the winner of the Milan and Napoli match will play against the winner of the Inter Milan and Benfica.
