Enzo Fernandez: We are not afraid of Real Madrid and do not feel pressure

Argentine international and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez insisted that while the Blues players respect Real Madrid, there is no fear among them ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash at “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League competition. Enzo confirmed that he and his team do not fear the player against Real Madrid and do not feel pressure. “We know Real Madrid is a very big club with a lot of history,” the Argentina international said in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday. Defending champions Real Madrid will face Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, Where the winner of that match qualifies for the semi-finals, to face the finalist from the Man City summit against Bayern in the quarter-finals.
Speaking on the eve of the game, Fernandez said: “We are not afraid. Of course there is respect because we know the quality they have and the forwards they have. But we will try to counteract them with our defenders and try to make a wonderful match.
“Frank talked with the group a bit and he told us to keep our heads straight,” added Fernandez. “Chelsea is a club with a huge history. He told us he won the Champions League in 2012, and he mentioned it was in his worst moment at Chelsea. A great example for us.” “I try not to have to pressure in football, just to enjoy each match. I know the responsibility but for me there is no pressure, I always try to enjoy. Being afraid? No. you don’t have to be afraid, you have to enjoy it. Let’s hope tomorrow it is a big show.
“Obviously within the season changing coach so often is not easy for anyone. But the group is strong, we are united, but we know what the Champions League means so we are mentally prepared to play tomorrow.
“We know the history of the Bernabeu, it is a big stadium and I am really happy to play here. It has beautiful memories.”
