Firmino, the all-time top scoring Brazilian in the EPL
Roberto Firmino scored an 87th-minute equalizer to put a dent in Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge and earn a 2-2 draw for Liverpool on Sunday. The Brazilian forward rose at the far post to complete a rousing comeback from the Merseyside club after Arsenal had raced to a two-goal lead at Anfield. With Arsenal looking set to extend its lead at the top to eight points over Manchester City, Firmino struck what could be a decisive goal in the title race. The forward raced through on goal after Van Dijk’s attempted clearance fell straight into his path and slipped a low shot past Alisson. According to Opta Analyst's calculations, no player has scored more goals without penalties against Arsenal in the history of the English Premier League than Roberto Firmino with 10 goals. Firmino has become the most Liverpool player to score against Arsenal in Premier League history, and he is also the third most player in the English Premier League in general, after Harry Kane (14) and Wayne Rooney (12). Arsenal leads the current Premier League standings with 73 points, narrowing the gap to only 6 points from runner-up Man City with 67 points, while Liverpool came in eighth place with 44 points.
