Mikel sets Arsenal's target for the Gunners to lift the Premier League title

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta set the Gunners a sole target to lift the Premier League title after Liverpool snatched a 2-2 draw from the jaws of defeat against Arsenal as Roberto Firmino’s goal in the 87th minute trimmed the Gunners’ lead over Manchester City at the top of the table to just six points. Arteta praised Liverpool as "exceptional" after his side squandered a 2-0 first-half lead on Sunday (9 April). A 2-2 draw came after Mohamed Salah's goal brought Liverpool back into it and Roberto Firmino grabbed a late equalizer.
“We lost control and started to give a lot of balls away,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said afterward, Arteta told reporters after the game ended. “The game became open. We needed resilience; we needed our keeper in the last moment. I think a draw is a fair result. “The crowd got going. The goal gave them some hope. At 2-0, we had the game in our hands. That was our chance to kill the game. Then we made a mistake. We had to show our resilience and our luck at times.” “Just before half-time we conceded and we gave Liverpool some momentum.” Mikel Arteta added. Arsenal remain without an away league win against Liverpool since 2012 as they stumbled over one of the major hurdles between them and the title despite a perfect start. The Gunners' surrendered a two-goal lead in a pulsating 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Sunday to blow the Premier League title race wide open. The English Premier League has wrapped up Matchday 30 Sunday with Arsenal remaining at the top of the table stands. Arsenal leads the current Premier League standings, with 73 points, and are 6 points ahead of reigning champions Manchester City which is second but has played one less game. Liverpool is eighth after 29 games, with 44 points.
