Courtois: Real Madrid is the "best club in the world"

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois confirmed that he was lucky to have played for the giant European club, noting that he considers Real Madrid the best club in the world. Thibaut Courtois will be going up against his past this Saturday in the derby with Atletico Madrid. Despite being grateful to the Madrid side, the Belgian said that Real Madrid was "the best club in the world".

Thibaut Courtois will be one of the main men in the derby which Real Madrid and Atletico are going to play out this Saturday. The ex-Atletico keeper is now between the sticks for the 'Merengues'.
The Belgian has gotten used to the banter from the Atletico stands since his departure, but he will be at his new home this time. "We're in the bus getting to the stadium and I can see parents with their little kids, insulting and everything, it's shocking. I hope that it'll change over time", he said to 'Movistar'.
What's more, the Real Madrid shot-stopper, who often comes to the rescue for his side, wanted to thank Atletico for his spell there.
"I spent three very good years at Atletico, three very important years for my career. I'll always wish them the best, but now I'm at the best club in the world", he said.

Courtois said that he had good links with Perez, revealing the extent of his eagerness and respect for him, and continued: “A great president who achieved everything for the club, wants us to win, I love his style because he is very close to us, and we always talk before and after matches.”
Speaking more generally on his relations with the head honcho, Courtois told Marca that he got on well with the President.
“I get along well. He’s the boss. He wants us to win. I like his style, he’s very close. He doesn’t miss a game, something I hadn’t seen before in any director. He demands a lot from you, but he’s a great president.”
“He has achieved everything. It’s not like we send each other WhatsApps (laughs), but we talk before and after the games. In the box, he always comes over to chat with Mishel, with the families of the other players.”
While Perez perhaps projects a slightly intimidating figure in the media, clearly he has both a mind for business and as a result, an ability to form good relationships.
Overall, inviting your boss to your wedding is not so far out of the ordinary, but within football, it is less so. Courtois picked up an injury on international duty with Belgium this week but is expected to return to training on Wednesday after a diagnosis revealed it was a mild issue.
