Statistics reveal that Valverde played 469 matches in the Spanish League competition with the various clubs that he trained in La Liga, to come in first place on the list, ahead of the rest of the La Liga coaches at the present time. Valverde has coached 5 clubs in the Spanish League since the start of his coaching career in 2002 until now, namely: Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol, Villarreal, Barcelona, and Valencia.
