Gianni Infantino re-elected FIFA president for a new term until 2027

Swiss Gianni Infantino has been re-elected as president of FIFA until 2027 after standing unopposed at the congress of world football's governing body on Thursday. FIFA announced on Thursday the re-election of Infantino as president of the world's largest football organization during the FIFA Congress. Infantino reacted on his election as FIFA president for a new term, saying: "It is an incredible honour and privilege, and a great responsibility," Infantino said. "I promise to continue serving FIFA and football around the world.
"To all those who love me, and I know there are so many, and also those who hate me, I know there are a few: I love you all," Infantino told delegates in the Rwandan capital, where the voting system did not register the number of dissident voices.
"I am humbly touched by your support, I promise I will continue to serve FIFA, football around the world and all of FIFA's member associations," the FIFA President added
