Hazard reveals international retirement decision, speaks out on his future with Real Madrid

Belgian star Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has confirmed that his decision to retire from international football is final and irreversible, and stressed his desire to stay with Real Madrid next season. Hazard opened up on how a lack of club football convinced him to retire from Belgium duty. Hazard has openly admitted his frustration at an absence of a first-team role with Los Blancos, as Carlo Ancelotti has effectively removed him from first-team duty. "The decision to retire from international football is final and irreversible," Hazard said in statements to the Belgian Radio station "RTBF". Hazard opted to step away from his position as Belgium's captain, following their exit from the 2022 World Cup, with ongoing speculation over his next career move. “I couldn’t see myself not playing at Real Madrid, and then getting to the national team, and playing”, “Not playing at Real, then joining the Red Devils and playing. I didn’t like that idea, especially as the new generation deserves to play. “I will not return to Belgium, I’m 100% sure. I can’t see myself doing it. It’s never been in my head. “I have many other things to do, such as spending more time with my children, with my family. I don’t see myself backing down on my decision on a whim.” On his future with Real Madrid, Hazard said, "As for me, I will stay in Madrid next season. What could make me change my mind? I don't know, all I think about is playing, and that’s why I don't even think about leaving. Deep in my heart, I think I can still contribute and help the team but I want to have the opportunity and play matches."
He also states he and his family is quite content to remain in Spain and are enjoying life in the Spanish capital.
