Barcelona alters history to set an incredible defensive record in La Liga

La Liga leaders FC Barcelona set a new league record on Sunday, conceding only 8 goals after 25 rounds in La Liga. After what was an intense match, Barcelona managed to come away with only a slight victory 1-0 win against Athletic Bilbao.
According to Opta, Barcelona has now conceded 8 goals after 25 matches this season, setting a new record in the competition at this stage after Atletico Madrid in 1990/1991 and Deportivo de La Coruña in 1993/1994 (both 10).
Barcelona is the first team in La Liga history to keep 19 clean sheets out of the first 25 rounds. Barcelona owes credit for this achievement to its German goalkeeper, Marc-Andre Terstegen, who has been shining with Barca this season, and his last great performance was yesterday against Bilbao.
Barcelona strengthened the top of the La Liga standings table with 65 points, 9 points ahead of Real Madrid, runner-up with 56 points, and Athletic Bilbao's balance stopped at 33 points in ninth place.
