Karim Benzema is a doubt for Espanyol Clash

Spanish media reports revealed that Real Madrid captain, Karim Benzema, is currently a doubt for Saturday’s La Liga fixture against Espanyol due to injury. The French Striker has been sidelined on numerous occasions so far this season. Mostly through injuries while some of his absence was due to fatigue. These injuries may be a surprise to the club but it definitely is a major concern going into the crucial stretch of the season. The Spanish newspaper "AS" stated that Benzema suffers from ankle pain, the player did not train today, and if he trained tomorrow with the group, he will be present against Espanyol. The newspaper indicated that an ankle injury to Karim Benzema further dampened the mood at Real Madrid. AS sports newspaper added that the French star did not participate in group training for the third day in a row, explaining that Benzema will undergo medical examinations, but in principle, his injury is not serious. The newspaper confirmed that Benzema's injury is not serious, but coach Carlo Ancelotti does not want to risk the player against Espanyol, especially with 6 days left until the decisive confrontation with Liverpool in the second leg of the final price of the Champions League competition.
