Bayern reaches a historic record, Mueller contributes to 300 goals

Bayern Munich reached a historic record, after beating Stuttgart on Saturday evening, while Bavarian star Thomas Mueller made his 300th goal contribution. Bayern Munich beat relegation-threatened Stuttgart 2-1 on Saturday to reclaim Bundesliga top spot from Borussia Dortmund on goal difference. Muller, who has scored 141 goals and assisted 159, is the second player after former team-mate Robert Lewandowski (367) to reach that milestone in the German top flight since Opta started recording such data in the 2004-05 season. In-form Dortmund defeated RB Leipzig 2-1 on Friday to reach the summit, but Bayern responded well at Mercedes-Benz Arena as they made it four wins in five league outings. According to the "Opta" network, the Bavarian has crossed the barrier of 100 away goals against Stuttgart, the first team in the history of the Bundesliga to reach this number against one opponent. Thomas Mueller also arrived to contribute to 300 goals in the Bundesliga, scoring 141 goals and making 159 others. Mueller became the second player to break the 300 mark in this competition, after Robert Lewandowski the first (367 contributions). Bayern Munich returns to the top of the Bundesliga table with 49 points, ahead of runner-up Borussia Dortmund, with the same balance, by goal difference.
