Argentine legend Lionel Messi tops the list of scorers in El Clasico matches throughout history, before the Real Madrid and Barcelona match, which will be held on Thursday, within the framework of the first leg of the semi-finals of the King’s Cup of Spain.
The two giants clash in the third encounter this season, while two other confrontations remain on March 19 in the Spanish Premier League “La Liga” and April 5 in the second leg of the King’s Cup semi-final at Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi is the top scorer in the history of El Clasico, finding the net 26 times in the big fixture for 45 matches, during a glittering career with Barcelona. Messi's goals were divided between 18 goals in La Liga, 6 in the Spanish Super Cup, and two goals in the Champions League, while he had never scored in the cup. Former Real Madrid duo Alfredo Di Stefano and Cristiano Ronaldo are top scorers with 18 goals each, while Karim Benzema is from the current generation with 13 goals.
Lionel Messi, along with the Spanish Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos and Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets are at the top of the list of players most appeared in matches with 45 matches for each player.
