Benzema jabs FIFA and objects on Messi being Crowned Best Player

It seems that French star and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema objected to not being crowned the best player in the world, “The Best”, for the year 2022, which was crowned by Argentine star Lionel Messi. Benzema has described FIFA as a liar after Lionel Messi was named the 2022 best player at The Best Awards in Paris, France. Through his Instagram account, Benzema published his records and championships that he won last year until the end of the FIFA nomination period. The Paris Saint-Germain forward pipped his club teammate Kylian Mbappe to the top prize – earning 52 points to the French striker’s 44 – with Real Madrid star Karim Benzema ranking in third spot, on 34 points. A breakdown of every captain who voted in the awards has emerged since Messi was recognized as the top men's player in world football, giving insight into how players selected their top choices for the year. Messi beat Benzema and French teammate, Kylian Mbappe to win the FIFA best player award for the second time. Benzema feels the accolade was given to the wrong person after his stellar campaign with Real Madrid in 2022, including winning the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles and finishing the year as the top scorer.  Karim Benzema has won the men’s Ballon d’Or for the first time in his career presented by "France Football" magazine after a brilliant season with Real Madrid capped by the UEFA Champions League and Spanish La Liga titles last October 2022.
