Barcelona president comments on Messi's as the FIFA Best Awards 

FC Barcelona President Juan Laporta commented on Lionel Messi, as being chosen for the best player in the world for the year 2022 award, presented by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA). The Barça supremo was part of the club contingent that had traveled along with Femeni superstar Alexia Putellas, who won the Best Women’s Player of the Year Award at the Gala. Laporta wrote on his official "Twitter": "Congratulations Messi, a well-deserved achievement of a legendary career. Barcelona fans will always be proud that Messi is part of our history." Messi won The Best award once in his history in 2019, after its separation from the Golden Ball presented by France Football magazine. Messi led his country, Argentina, to win the 2022 World Cup, for the third time in the history of tango, and the first in Messi's career.
