Chelsea: Thiago Silva's injury could keep him out for SIX weeks

English club Chelsea announced on Tuesday the nature of Thiago Silva's injury and the duration of his absence. The club said the player could be out for up to six weeks as Chelsea confirms their star defender damaged his knee ligaments in defeat at Tottenham, coming as another huge blow to under-fire boss Graham Potter. Reports suggest Thiago Silva could miss up to six weeks of action after limping off in Chelsea's defeat at Tottenham. "Having sustained a knee injury during the first half of Sunday's match against Tottenham Hotspur, Thiago underwent further assessment and a scan on his return to the training center on Monday," a club statement read. Silva has made 26 appearances for Chelsea this season and remains one of the first names on their team sheet at the age of 38. The 38-year-old Brazilian defender recently renewed his contract with Chelsea until 2024, and he joined in the summer of 2020, on a free transfer, after the end of his contract with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain.
