Lewandowski scored 15 goals in his first 19 La Liga appearances, runner-up to Renaldo’s record

Polish star Robert Lewandowski has scored 15 goals in his first 19 La Liga appearances, the second-fastest player to reach that number in the competition. Lewandowski netted his 24th Barcelona goal to help the Catalans beat Cadiz 2-0 and restore their eight-point lead at the top of La Liga on Sunday. According to  Opta Sports, the leading sports data provider, the Polish Barca striker added another goal to his tally, on his way to 15 league goals in his first 19 games in the Spanish league. This is the second fastest pace in the 21st century to reach 15 league goals.  Only Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 15 goals faster, having done so in 17 games in the 2009/10 season. Robert Lewandowski scored his 24th goal with Barcelona this season in all competitions since joining Barca last summer from Bayern Munich. Barcelona re-opened their eight-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the Liga table courtesy of a 2-0 win over Cadiz at Camp Nou with 56 points, only 5 points ahead of Real Madrid, while the Cadiz team comes in 16th place in the La Liga table with 22 points.
