Lukaku on scoring his long-awaited Serie A goal

The Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku finally scored his first goal of 2023, converting from the spot as Inter beat Udinese 3-1 at the San Siro. While the target man had a quiet match overall, the strike could hopefully help him find his goalscoring form of old. It was not the best performance for the hosts, but the result was a much-needed win after last week’s draw with Sampdoria. Lukaku, Inter Milan's top scorer, ended his goalscoring fast in the Italian league after scoring his team's first goal against Udinese, from a penalty kick. “Opta” network indicated that Lukaku’s goal against Udinese was his first in 189 days, in the Italian League, since his goal against Lecce on August 13 of last year. Lukaku returned to Inter Milan this season on loan from Chelsea, one year after he left for the Blues in a record deal. Inter Milan ranks first in the Italian league table with 47 points, behind leaders Napoli with 62 points.
