Milan wins in the Champions League after an absence of 10 years

AC Milan took a step towards their first Champions League quarter-final appearance for 10 years as Brahim Diaz’s goal gave the Italians a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in their last-16 first leg at the San Siro on Tuesday. Opta Sports statistics network stated that Milan make winning return to Champions League knockout stage by beating Tottenham, after an absence of 10 years, since its victory over Barcelona in February 2013. Opta added that the Rossoneri team gained victory over an Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League for the first time since the first leg of the round of 16 in the 2011/12 season against Arsenal (4-0). Since then, he has lost all five of his matches against the English, conceding at least two goals each time.
The return leg will be held on March 8 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
