Manchester City Fans have been heavily hit out at Pep Guardiola in response to his Algerian star Riyad Mahrez as Manchester City bowed out after losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur. Guardiola had removed Riyad Mahrez from the pitch during his team’s match with Tottenham on Sunday in the 59th minute, and it was reported that he violently abused him between the two halves of the match. Manchester City fans took to "Twitter" to pour out their anger on coach Guardiola because of his changes, as one of the team's fans twitted about Mahrez's exit: "I do not understand the change," while another supported him, criticizing Pep: "Clearly Guardiola wants to lose". According to reports, Guardiola yelled at Mahrez while the two were walking together in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms after the end of the first half, admonishing him for the decline in level.
Manchester City ranks second in the English Premier League with 45 points, while Tottenham comes in fifth place with 39 points.
