Tottenham signs right back Porro from Sporting Lisbon

Tottenham Hotspur has signed Spanish right-back Pedro Porro from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon on loan until the end of the season with an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. The English club Tottenham statement said: "We are pleased to announce the signing of Pedro Boro from Sporting Lisbon. The right-back will join the club on loan until the end of the season, with a commitment to make the deal permanent in the summer. He will wear the number 23 shirt." The Club added, “He appeared twice against us in the group stage of the Champions League this year. The 23-year-old signed for Manchester City in August 2019, but returned to Spain soon after to gain more experience with the first team, and joined Real Valladolid in the next season.” complete". The statement continued: “Pedro, an attack-minded full-back, joined Sporting Lisbon on a two-year loan in August 2020 – a deal which became permanent in July 2022. During his time with Sporting, the Spain international made a total of 98 appearances in all competitions and scored 12 times. Financial details were not disclosed, but British media reported that Spurs paid around 40 million pounds for the 23-year-old defender. Porro becomes the north London club’s second signing of the January transfer window after they also brought in winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal.
