Rafael Leao's contract extension with AC Milan reached a deadlock

AC Milan’s Contract Renewal Negotiations Rafael Leao Italian press reports revealed the collapse of negotiations between AC Milan and its Portuguese star, Rafael Leao, regarding the agreement to renew the player's contract, due to the value of the penalty clause in the new contract. According to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta Dello Sport", the negotiations between Milan and the Portuguese Liao, regarding the latter's signing of a new contract with the club, collapsed due to the player's desire to reduce the value of the penalty clause from 150 million euros to 70 or 80 million euros. The newspaper added that if the player refuses to sign a new contract, Milan will be forced to sell him next summer, especially since the 23-year-old's contract expires in the summer of 2024. Liao is among the interests of many large European clubs, after the distinguished levels presented by the player with the Rossoneri, which puts great pressure on the Italian club’s management in order to resolve the matter of renewing his contract.
Liao joined Milan in the summer of 2019 from French Lille, in a deal worth 30 million euros.
