PSG rushing to push through a deal for Chelsea’s Ziyech before the transfer deadline

The French newspaper "L'Equipe" indicated that Paris Saint-Germain hopes to solve their attacking depth issue by signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech before the January window closes on Tuesday. Ziyech, 29 years old, has failed to secure a starting squad place with the Blues since arriving from Ajax for a fee of around €40m in 2020. According to the French newspaper, Paris Saint-Germain hopes to solve their attacking depth issue by signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech before the January window closes on Tuesday night.
The newspaper pointed out that the discussions are progressing very quickly, as the player prefers the Parisian club offer over any other club, including major clubs such as Manchester United. The Moroccan international has started just five games in all competitions with Chelsea this season and is expected to drop down the attacking hierarchy at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Joao Felix and Mikhailo Modric. Ziyech, whose value is estimated at €20 million, has also appeared on the radar of Milan, Roma, and Newcastle United as a ‘wanted target’. With his current contract expiring in June 2025, he can be provided with more than his estimated market value.
Ziyech has scored 14 goals and contributed 11 assists in 98 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League side.
