Man United: Christian Eriksen is unlikely to play football again for 4 weeks

English press reports revealed that the Danish star, Christian Eriksen, may be absent from his Manchester United team, for a period of up to a month. Christian Eriksen suffered an ankle injury in Manchester United's FA Cup fourth round win over Reading in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The 30-year-old was replaced by Fred shortly after United had taken the lead, having picked up a knock following a robust tackle from Reading forward Andy Carroll. Eriksen has played a part in all but one of United's matches this season, only missing the goalless draw with Newcastle back in October. The newspaper “Sun” reported that Eriksen left the “Old Trafford” stadium, after the Reading match on crutches with a splint on his ankle, after violent interference with him by Reading striker Andy Carroll, and he received a red card directly. The newspaper added that the injury suffered by the Danish may prone him to be absent from the stadiums for 3 to 4 weeks, which will cause a crisis in the midfield of the team, especially with the succession of matches, and the approaching confrontation with Barcelona in the European League. Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Christian Eriksen suffered an ankle injury in Manchester United's FA Cup fourth-round win over Reading. "It is always difficult to say so shortly after the game finished," he said. "But it is an ankle injury, and we have to see what the diagnosis is."
