Chelsea officially signs Lyon defender Gusto on contract to 2030

Chelsea FC announced on Sunday that has signed right back Malo Gusto from Olympique Lyonnais on a deal until June 2030 and loaned him back to the French side for the rest of the season, Premier League club said on Sunday. Chelsea has confirmed the signing of right-back Malo Gusto, who will spend the remainder of the season on loan with Lyon. "The defender will now continue his impressive progress on loan at the Groupama Stadium before joining up with the Blues in the summer ahead of the new campaign," Chelsea said in a statement. The addition of the French defender will be a boost to the Blues' team when the 2023/24 season kicks off. Chelsea in its statement said: “The 19-year-old right-back signed a contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2030 and returns to France for the remainder of the current season to continue playing with Lyon in the French first division, where he played 15 league matches.” Gusto made his debut with Lyon, in January 2021. The following season was a breakthrough for the attack-minded fullback, as he became a key player with Lyon both domestically and in Europe. He recorded four assists in 30 Ligue 1 matches, while also helping his team reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
English press reports revealed that the Malo Justo deal cost Chelsea an amount of 30 million euros.
