Erik Ten Hag: we want to make the club the best in the world

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag aims to make Man United the best team in the world with Marcus Rashford leading that transformation. The Dutch manager answered questions about Paris St-Germain’s interest in England striker Rashford.  United has triggered the renewal of Rashford’s contract, which now does not expire until 2024. “I would say this is the best place [for him] because we want to build the best team,” said Ten Hag. With 17 goals already this season, the 25-year-old has scored more than Antony, Bruno Fernandes, and Anthony Martial – United’s next-best scorers – combined. “I think he understands that Manchester United is his club, but he also plays his best football in this environment,” added Ten Hag. “This team can help him to be in the right position and to score goals, which he is good at. “He’s important to us and if we want to have the success we want, we need him.” Erik continued, "Nottingham Forest changed their style with this match, and we were not ready for that, but we have to be better," adding, "Manchester United is the best place to be, because we want to build a team that will be the best in England, Europe, and then the world." Manchester United had qualified for the semi-finals of the English Professional League championship after its broad victory at the expense of Charlton Athletic, 3-0, in the match that was held between them at the “Old Trafford” stadium in the quarter-finals.
