Chelsea gives Ziyech green light to the Serie A transfer

Multiple reports claim Chelsea and Hakim Ziyech have given their green light to a deal with Roma, but the Giallorossi need to sell Nicolò Zaniolo. The Morocco international has emerged as the Giallorossi’s priority target to replace the Italy international who wants to leave in January. According to Calciomercato.com, Ziyech has agreed to join the Giallorossi and Chelsea is also open to sending the former Ajax winger to the Stadio Olimpico. Everton is also interested in the 29-year-old, but the player reportedly prefers Roma. The Sun confirms Ziyech priorities José Mourinho’s side over the Toffees. Calciomercato claims Chelsea is open to waiting for Roma who needs to sell Zaniolo before signing Ziyech. Milan remains interested in Zaniolo, but there are no developments given that Roma seeks a permanent €40m transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy. Milan won’t offer more than €25m and an obligation to buy linked to their Champions League qualification this season. Chelsea wants at least €25m for Ziyech who earns €6.5m per season. According to Calciomercato.com, the Giallorossi would spread his salary onto a four or five-year deal, using the Growth Decree to cut the player’s gross salary by 50%.
