Luis Suarez, 35, joined Gremio a few weeks ago, on a free transfer with a contract that runs until December 2024. He initially returned to his boyhood club, Nacional, where he scored eight goals in 16 appearances. A short-term deal to ensure that he was fresh for the FIFA Qatar World Cup 2022, Suarez was unable to drag his beloved national team out of Group H.
