Suarez’s magic helped Gremio secure a 4-1 victory over Sao Luiz and the Recopa Gaucha Super Cup title.  One of the greatest strikers of his generation, the Uruguay international returned to South America after leaving Atletico Madrid last year. Luis Suarez, 35, joined Gremio a few weeks ago, on a free transfer with a contract that runs until December 2024. He initially returned to his boyhood club, Nacional, where he scored eight goals in 16 appearances. A short-term deal to ensure that he was fresh for the FIFA Qatar World Cup 2022, Suarez was unable to drag his beloved national team out of Group H.
