Salah overtakes Dalglish’s scoring record for Liverpool's top scorer all-time
The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah continues to shoot up Liverpool’s all-time goalscoring list, this time overtaking none other than Sir Kenny Dalglish to move into outright seventh. Salah gained a new record with Liverpool, after scoring a goal against Wolverhampton, in the match that ended with a positive tie score of 2-2, in the third round of the FA Cup. Salah had a quiet game despite moving ahead of Kenny Dalglish on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers’ list with his goal against Wolves. Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal after Darwin Nunez had canceled out Goncalo Guedes’ opener before Hee-Chan Hwang leveled the scores. Toti thought he had won it for the Wolves eight minutes from time but his goal was disallowed for offside by VAR. The Egyptian forward calmly slotted past Sarkic after benefitting from Toti’s poor defensive header. Salah was in the right place at the right time to get to the rebound inside the box and gleefully rifled the ball into the left side of the goal. His goal saw him overtake Liverpool great Dalglish on the club's all-time top scorers’ list, taking his tally for the Reds to 173 from 280 matches, to sit sixth on the prestigious list with Robbie Fowler 183 and Steven Gerrard 186 now in his sights. Liverpool is the first club in the English Premier League to score more than 10 goals in all competitions this season, namely Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. The match against Liverpool vs. Wolverhampton encounter in the third round of the FA Cup will be at the latter’s stadium at a date to be determined by the FA.
