Arteta fumes at the referee after the Newcastle stalemate match

Mikel Arteta last night blasted referee Andy Madley after what he felt were two "scandalous" decisions that cost his side victory at the Emirates Stadium in a goalless draw in the English Premier League. Newcastle United and Arsenal both continued their fine unbeaten runs of late after playing out a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening. Arteta believed Dan Burn should have been penalized for a shirt pull on Gabriel for a spot-kick while he believed Jacob Murphy handled the ball late on to deny him another penalty. After the match, he took aim at West Yorkshire official Madley in his press conference.Arteta said he was “proud” of his players after the game but he took aim at the match officials. He feels that his side should have been awarded two penalties as he believed Gabriel was fouled by Dan Burn and also for a Jacob Murphy handball in the penalty area.“[I am] Extremely proud of my players,” Arteta told Sky Sports post-match.
