Ronaldo splits with super-agent Mendes after joining Al Nasr

Press reports revealed that the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly split with his long-serving agent Jorge Mendes after a disagreement over his bombshell Piers Morgan interview - which led to his bitter Manchester United exit. Tottenham's recruitment staff was at Goodison Park on Tuesday night to scout out Everton's Anthony Gordon. Portugal forward was officially unveiled as an Al Nassr player on Tuesday, following his arrival in Saudi Arabia, after he agreed to a-year contract. The two-decade-long relationship between Ronaldo and Mendes had been deteriorating for some time and his personal manager, Ricky Regufe negotiated his transfer to Al Nassr. According to UK “Mirror” news outlet, Mendes objected to Ronaldo giving the interview and knew afterward that any hopes of finding the star in another top club in Europe had vanished. The Mirror added that Mendes had represented Ronaldo since 2003 when he moved from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United. The newspaper pointed out that the events that accompanied the "Madeira Rocket" joining the Saudi League contributed to the breakdown of the relationship with Jorge Mendes, indicating that the interview that Ronaldo conducted with the journalist Piers Morgan led to increasing problems between the two parties.
