Neymar was outraged in Brazilian media for missing Pele's funeral to train with PSG

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has faced criticism in his home country of Brazil after missing Pele's funeral to train in France. The Selecao legend's funeral ceremony takes place on Tuesday with fans queuing through the night to pay their respects, and some were surprised to discover that national team hero Neymar is not in attendance. Some Brazilian media confirmed that Neymar would attend the funeral, given the very special relationship he had with the late star Pele, but he disappointed many by not attending. Pele's farewell ceremony took place yesterday at the Santos club, to which the late great star belonged, as did Neymar Jr., who regularly attended the training session with his Paris Saint-Germain colleagues, while his father was assigned to attend the funeral.
Pele passed away aged 82 in Sao Paulo before the New Year after a battle with cancer. Tributes quickly poured in, including from Neymar himself, for the player who many consider the greatest of all time.
