Santos to add crown to club in honor of Brazil Legend Pele

Brazilian club Santos released a new crest for the 2023 season with a slight symbolic change. A crown in honor of King Pelé was installed on the logo in honor of football legend Pele, who is fighting cancer, after his health deteriorated during the recent period.  The Brazilian football club will use a crown emblazoned on its uniform as a tribute to the three-time World Cup winner, who has been receiving treatment in the hospital for the past few weeks.“The crown will already be on the shirt of 2023. Santos will play in 2023 with the crown on the badge: the two stars (of their two Brazilian titles) and a crown on the top of the badge,” Celso Jatene said via Archysport.  Pele was hospitalised in Sao Paulo on November 29 for what his medical team called a re-evaluation of his chemotherapy treatments, which he has been receiving since having surgery to remove a colon tumour in September 2021. Family members of Pele have gathered at the hospital where the Brazilian football legend is being treated for worsening cancer as well as kidney and heart problems.
Pele is considered by many to be the greatest footballer of all time and has received several messages of support since his hospitalisation. Pele, who won the World Cup three times and is considered one of the greatest players in football history, underwent surgery for worsening cancer as well as kidney and heart problems in last year.
