Press reports from Sao Paulo revealed that the Brazilian government is coordinating with the Brazilian Football Confederation and Santos Club, in order to prepare for the hours following the announcement of the death of Pele. Brazilian soccer legend Pele is receiving palliative care after chemotherapy stopped having the expected results as he battles colon cancer, newspaper Folha de S.Paulo reported on Saturday. The latest medical report from the Albert Einstein hospital, where he has been hospitalized for 3 weeks, indicates that the three-time world champion presents a progression of cancer, as well as renal and cardiac dysfunction. The cancer has metastasized, the treatments seem not to fully respond to the 82-year-old and there is great anxiety about his health. The Brazilian newspaper "Folha de São Paulo" revealed that Santos club had prepared a giant tent in the middle of the Santos pitch stadium in preparation for Pele's funeral, in addition to a golden coffin, on which many pictures of the Brazilian football legend were placed. Pele spent his football career in Santos, from 1956 until 1974, before moving in 1975 to New York Cosmos, where he ended his career in 1977.
