Infantino: We are studying the possibility of holding a World Cup every 2 years

FIFA President Gianni Infantino spoke about the future of the World Cup and the possibility of holding the tournament every two years, stressing that they are carefully studying the proposals and that international competitions such as the Arab Cup will resume making the game better. The proposal has ignited significant debate around the globe in recent times, with fans, coaches, players, and entire continental governing bodies taking sides. "I would like to ask Argentina to return the cup again and start over, and if I can, I will play a World Cup every two weeks, not two years," Infantino said in remarks published by the international media. In his speech, Infantino touched on changing the date of the World Cup, saying: "In fact, we have to study these questions carefully, and this was the focus of the public discussion in the World Cup and the possibility of repeating it. We have to give opportunities to countries from multiple continents." He added, "It is not necessarily the World Cup. Perhaps there may be other competitions, such as the Club World Cup, with 32 teams every four years, and that it is of the same importance as the World Cup." "This is something that will reflect positively on the teams, as is the case for the Arab Cup, which we will play again to use competitiveness to make the game better and people love it more.", he continued. The English newspaper "Daily Mail" had blown up a surprise after indicating that Infantino plans to hold the World Cup every 3 years.
