FA confirm decision on Gareth Southgate's future as England manager

The English Football Association (FA)has announced that Gareth Southgate will continue as England manager following the Three Lions' World Cup quarter-final exit to France last weekend.

The Three Lions, despite producing a valiant effort, exited the tournament at the last-eight stage, losing 2-1 to the reining World Cup holders in Qatar. 

In a statement from FA CEO Mark Bullingham said: "We are delighted to confirm that Gareth Southgate is continuing as England manager, and will lead our Euro 2024 campaign.

"Gareth and Steve Holland have always had our full support, and our planning for the Euros starts now."

Southgate has been in charge of England since 2016 and has already led England to three major tournaments.

Southgate, 52 years old, took over the training of the Three Lions in September 2016, leading the team in 81 games in various tournaments, winning 49, drawing 18 and losing 14 games.
