Griezmann breaks France's joint-top assist record stars for Zidane and Henry

France’s Antoine Griezmann bagged two assists for his country against England in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal, becoming the all-time leader in French football history with 28 assists. Griezmann made two goals for France's victory over England 2-1 on Saturday at Al Bayt Stadium in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. Opta network, which specialized in statistics, stated that France’s Antoine Griezmann bagged his 27th assist for his country against England in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal, becoming the all-time leader in French football history, being the highest number for any player in the last 50 years, surpassing former stars Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane, as each of them had 26 assists.
The five French players with the most goals in major tournaments over the past 50 years are:

14 goals - Griezmann (8 goals, 6 assists)
8 goals - Zidane (7 goals, 1 assist)
7 goals - Giroud (4 goals, 3 assists)
7 goals - Mbappe (5 goals, 2 assists)
6 goals - Platini (5 goals, 1 assist)

France and Morocco will jostle for a place in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at  Al Bayt Stadium on Thursday night.
