Thousands of Morocco fans in The Netherlands celebrate ‘amazing’ victory over Portugal
The Moroccan fans cheered in various Netherlands cities, jeered, and performed the thunderous Viking clap throughout the game without rest. Morocco had other celebrations at the World Cup by beating Portugal and booking a spot in the semi-finals for the first time in their history, much to the delight of thousands of their fans and citizens expressed on Saturday. In the Hague, riot police deployed to disperse crowds after massive fireworks were fired and fans were urged to clear a street in a famous popular neighborhood quarter. In Rotterdam, hundreds of Moroccan supporters whistled in the streets of the city center, while some busy squares were closed to traffic jams. Since the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar2022, fans from the Moroccan community have gathered in the streets of the Netherlands after every victory for their country.
