Bayern Munich’s Neuer out for rest of season after breaking his leg while skiing

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a leg fracture while on a skiing tour.
The 36-year-old, who represented Germany at the World Cup in Qatar as they went out in the group stage, posted news of his injury on social media.
Neuer has confirmed he will be out for the remainder of 2022-23 after undergoing surgery on the fracture.
In a statement, he said: “Hey guys, what can I say, the end of the year could have definitely gone better.
“While I was trying to get my head clear while ski touring, I suffered a lower leg fracture.
“Yesterday’s surgery went well. Many thanks to the doctors! However, it hurts to know that the current season is over for me.
“Take care! Your Manuel.”
The Bavarian goalkeeper had recently featured with the Germany team in the World Cup 2022 being held in Qatar, before the “Machinery” bid farewell to the tournament in the round of 16.
Neuer's injury is the third strike for Bayern Munich, after Senegalese star Sadio Mane, as well as French defender Lucas Hernandez, cut the cruciate ligament.
