Netherlands overtakes host Qatar to advance to the 16 round

 

Netherlands finished off the worst showing by any World Cup host nation by beating Qatar 2-0 on Tuesday. The Dutch advanced to the round of 16 while the Qataris, who were already eliminated, became the first host to lose all three of its group matches at soccer's biggest event.
Cody Jacobo,  Dutch  star and PSV Eindhoven, scored the first goal of the match in the 26th minute, to reach the third goal in the 2022 World Cup. The same player scored against Senegal and Ecuador in the first and second rounds.

Frenkie de Jong added the second goal for the Netherlands national team against Qatar in the 49th minute of the match.
With this result, the Netherlands national team qualifies for the round of sixteen, after raising its tally to 7 goals, 7 goals, after winning a match against Senegal 2-0 and drawing with Ecuador 1-1.

While Qatar bid farewell to the 2022 World Cup early after losing its first losses against Ecuador and Senegal, with a score of 2-0 and 3-1, respectively.
