Senegal defeats Ecuador, accompanies Netherlands to the round of 16
With two wins and a loss, Senegal finished behind Netherlands in second place in Group A at the ongoing edition in Qatar.
Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly scored his team’s second goal in a 2-1 win over Ecuador in its final Group A match of the FIFA World Cup at Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar.
Ismaila Sarr took the lead for Senegal in the 44th minute from a penalty kick, while Moses Caicedo equalized for Ecuador in the 67th minute.
In the 70th minute, Kalidou Coulibaly scored the second goal, wonderfully.
With this result, the Senegal national team ranks second in the 2022 World Cup ranking table, with 6 points, behind the leading Netherlands national team with 7 points, then Ecuador third with 4 points.
