Official: Juventus have a new president
Juventus have officially confirmed that all board members, including Andrea Agnelli, have resigned and have appointed Maurizio Scanavino as their new CEO. Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved, and eight more board members, including CEO Maurizio Arrivabene, have resigned, Juventus confirmed with an official statement. The owners of the Italian club, Juventus, revealed the name of the club’s new president, to succeed former president Andia Agnelli, who submitted his resignation to the board of directors on Monday.
The owners of the Italian club, Juventus FC (the holding company that owns the majority of the club’s shares) have announced the appointment of Gianluca Ferrero as the new Juventus president, while the rest of the vacant posts on the board will soon be filled.
“With reference to the decisions taken yesterday by the Board of Directors of Juventus FC and in advance of its Shareholders Meeting called for 18 January 2023, Exor communicates that it will indicate Gianluca Ferrero for the role of Chairman of Juventus,” reads the statement released on EXOR’s official website.
The Exor Holding Company owned by the Agnelli family that controls Juventus chose Gianluca Ferrero to assume the presidency of the club during the coming period.
Juventus announced on Monday the resignation of its board of directors, including President Andrea Agnelli and CEO Maurizio Arrivabeneo. The mass resignation comes after prosecutors scrutinized Juventus' financial statements in recent months over allegations of accounting irregularities and market manipulation.
Juventus currently ranks third in the Italian league table, 10 points behind leaders Napoli.
