Was Neymar injured on purpose? Gudeli answers!
Serbian midfielder Nemanja Gudelje defended his tackle on Brazilian star Neymar, which caused him to suffer a severe ankle injury. Earlier, Brazil's media blames the Serbian defender for intentionally injuring Neymar in the game.
Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0 courtesy of Richarlison's goals last Thursday, as nine fouls were committed against the team members, as seen widely a result that is the largest number of fouls among all players during the first round of the group stage competitions in the Qatar World Cup 2022.
Gudeli received a yellow card in the 49th minute after his strong collision with Neymar, to be replaced eight minutes later, but he confirmed that he did not intend to harm his opponent.
"I don't feel like I interfered with him very hard," Gudelly told the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf" on Sunday. "I felt that I had no choice when he entered the penalty zone because he was dangerous. It was a necessary foul in my opinion, but it was a foul that led to my substitution." He added.
