Uruguay vs. South Korea goalless draw in their Group H opener in the 2022 World Cup

 

Uruguay and South Korea played out the fourth goalless draw of the group stage so far at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. neither side managed to fashion a breakthrough. While it was end-to-end action at the Education City Stadium on Thursday, the clear-cut chances were kept to a minimum by two very well organised defences. In the end, neither side deserved to win.
Uruguay was denied two goals, the first was Godin’s header in the 44th minute, and the second was Fede Valverde’s strong shot, which was almost a goal reached and fought in the 90th minute, and the last of the match, which enjoyed clubbing and excitement, but was devoid of goals.

The other match will be held in Group H of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, between Portugal and Ghana, shortly. Uruguay squad was as follows:

Goalkeeper: Sergio Rochette.
Defenders: Matias Oliveira, Jose Jimenez, Diego Godin, Martin Caceres.
Midfielders: Rodriguez Bentancur, Matias Vecchio, Federico Valverde, Darwin Nunez.
Forwards: Luis Suarez, Facundo Pellisri.

South Korea lineup came as follows:

Goalkeeper: Kim Gyo.

Defenders: Kim Moon Hwan, Kim Min Jae, Kim Jun, Kim Jin Soo.

Midfielders: Hwang In-beom, Jung Woo-young, Na Sang-ho, Lee Jae-sung.

Forwards: Son Heung-min, Hwang Yue-ju
